White Label Media Applies Sports Production to Election Night Coverage
White Label Media found that a little outside-the-box thinking solved both their sports and election night coverage needs with a single, powerful solution: NewTek 3Play. The integrated live production suite with instant replay and slow motion was added recently during the upgrade of White Label’s OB production truck to HD. The system added major capabilities to White Label’s local football (soccer) coverage, including multi-angle synchronized preview and instant replay, the ability to produce half-time and post-game highlights packages on the fly during the live production, and more. NewTek’s LiveText was also added to provide powerful text and graphics capabilities for the suite.
The 3Play has turned out to have utility far beyond the sports arena. White Label has put the system to good use in red-carpet coverage for cinema events, where the editing capability, clip tagging and replay functions have allowed for versatile coverage of the pre-event activities. And now White Label has begun using 3Play for election coverage, so far televising pre-election debates in Norwich for Mustard TV. On election night, 3Play will be used in UK Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg’s Sheffield constituency for the live coverage of the count, and will provide feeds to ITN, BBC and Sky networks.
