Dr. Andrew Cross Interview With PTZOptics at NAB 2018
Paul Richards and Tess Protesto of PTZOptics sat down for a wide-ranging discussion with NewTek CTO and president Dr. Andrew Cross, live from their booth C9945 at NAB 2018. Dr. Cross shares news of LiveGraphics™, NewTek’s new real-time broadcast graphics solution that engages Adobe Creative Cloud applications including Adobe® Photoshop®, Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects into a real-time graphics workflow. The group also talks about virtualization, that broadcast control rooms are turning into data centers now, rather than hosting the traditional dedicated video production equipment.
The impact on education and small producers of NDI® and the products that source from NDI, such as Connect Spark and the new 4K 60p Connect Spark Pro is also discussed. Production capabilities that were not accessible before at such levels, even as simple as the ability to engage more cameras, will transform what is possible on limited budgets. The free NDI Tools add to that impact - they turn any laptop or desktop into a video production resource that can enrich productions for hundreds of thousands of users, many of whom do not have the budget to think about traditional switcher and other hardware production products as they begin getting into video for presentation in schools and churches, or personal webcasting to a social media site.
