Get Started with NewTek Spark Plus HDMI to IP Video Converter

August 09, 2019 by Richard Evans, video; Chuck Baker, text

Our “Get Started” training series adds an entry for the NewTek Spark Plus HDMI to IP Video Converter. For this edition, NewTek’s Richard Evans walks us through the most common use case for TriCaster users, hooking up an HDMI camera and selecting the resulting NDI stream as a source on the virtual inputs in your TriCaster or other NewTek production system.

We also see how to access the Spark Plus control screen over the network, and get a very thorough tutorial of the many control options in the Network Settings section of the control screen. These let you configure both how NDI will operate over the network, as well as configuring the Spark’s interfacing to the local network. In addition Richard provides a look at the Local Link Failsafe option that lets you connect a Spark Plus directly to the network port of a laptop or desktop computer to troubleshoot issues or to set network configuration prior to taking to the field for a live production.

We hope this video is helpful for you. If you have suggestions for other topics you would like covered in a Facebook Live or Tip Jar Tutorial, please send us a message. We will see you next time.
